Video of Tolpavakoothu or leather puppet play, an ancient art form of Kerala. This form of leather puppetry is popular in and around the district of Palakkad. Traditional performed in temples this art form is part of the culture of Kerala. Tholpavakoothu adopts stories from Kamba Ramayanam, Tamil version of Indian epic Ramayana written by poet Kambar. I love the video you posted, never knew about Tolpavakoothu, though it's a bit dark .I will definitely check it out on my holiday in Kerala .I'm actually heading down with my family there this dec.We booked a package at http://bit.ly/KeralawithCnK I just cant wait to experience the house boats, massages, and just soak up the wonderful culture.Thanks for the share :)
